The days of the Supergroup may be long past\u2026 but surely The Guilty Men
\nwould qualify for that description! The band is made up of five of the finest
\nmusicians from the Northwest of England. Between them, they have played
\nover 10,000 gigs on planet Earth, recorded thousands of songs and made
\ncountless radio and TV appearances. To say they\u2019re experienced would be
\nan understatement!<\/p>\n
The story starts in 1979, in Manchester, England when Clive Gregson met
\nNeil Cossar. Neil was the guitarist in The Cheaters, Clive was the leader of
\nAny Trouble. The Cheaters had a PA, Any Trouble owned a van. It made
\nsense to pool resources, often with both bands on the same bill\u2026 happy
\ndays!<\/p>\n

Any Trouble signed to Stiff Records, The Cheaters signed to EMI. Both bands
\nreleased several albums and played thousands of shows. Both bands ran
\ntheir course\u2026 Clive then went on to a successful partnership with singer
\nChristine Collister, released over 20 solo albums, and spent 15 years in
\nNashville working as a session musician and producer. Neil became a radio
\nDJ, formed a Music PR company and launched the online brand This Day in
\nMusic, before becoming a music book publisher.<\/p>\n
Cut to 2021\u2026 Clive and Neil are catching up over lunch and thought it might
\nbe fun to try and write some songs together\u2026 several weeks and quite a few
\nsongs later, they decided to expand from a songwriting workshop to a full
\nband. Clive recruited keyboardist Jez Smith and bassist Craig Fletcher from
\nJohn Lees\u2019 Barclay James Harvest\u2026 and the lineup was completed with the
\naddition of legendary drummer, Paul Burgess, who has played with 10cc
\nsince 1973. They named the band The Guilty Men\u2026 and headed into the
\nrecording studio.<\/p>\n
Cut to 2024\u2026 and The Guilty Men\u2019s debut album \u201cInvisible Confetti\u201d is ready
\nto roll. 13 brand new songs recorded in the old-fashioned way: everybody
\nplaying live in the studio, intent on catching the moment. Most of the songs
\nwere laid down in no more than 2 or 3 takes\u2026 and with four featured lead
\nvocalists, the album covers a lot of musical bases. \u201cInvisible Confetti\u201d rocks\u2026
\nwith nods to Americana, country, folk, pop, psychedelia\u2026 it\u2019s an exhilarating
